I moved from North Carolina to Texas in 1986.
That means I have been here 22 years.
In those 22 years I have not seen snow.
It hasn't really felt like Christmas for over 22 years!
This means my children have never.. EVER seen snow
(except for tiny flurries that never stuck)
It doesn't snow in this part of Texas.
Last night, that all changed.
Worker #1 and the Little-Foreman-in-Pink went outside and saw this!
"Don't get too excited y'all... It won't stick." I said.
Uh-huh.... yeah.
The Pink One's 4-wheeler was stuck.
The plants were beautiful!
The beauty of the snow covered trees almost made me cry.
A fresh layer of snow even makes an ugly old fence look nice!
My fountain looked like a work of art.
**sigh** I miss this at Christmas-time.
I am so glad my kids got to play in snow.
They were outside until after 11pm having snowball fights, making snow angels, and squealing with delight. It was so much fun to watch!

12 amazing comments. Talk To Me!!:
Those pics were beautiful! I am in So Cal and we don't get snow either and I am okay with that. I can appreciate it from afar though :)
Wasn't it awesome? It got here overnight. We woke up to it at 5am. DH and the kids went outside and started playing in it. It was pretty while it lasted. I'm kinda glad we don't deal with it often though. It made everything so muddy and wet after it melted.
Your pictures are so pretty. I am so glad your kids got to play in the snow. We live in WV so by February we will be sick of our snow. We'll ship it to you. lol
YAY!! It looks so beautiful and oh man... I just want to come play at your house!
*sigh*
I was on the phone with my girlfriend who lives in Spring...She was squealing with the excitement of the falling flurries. I asked when it has snowed last. She says that it has NEVER snowed before in Spring. I cannot wait for her to post her photos as yours are amazingly beautiful.
OMG!! I absolutely LOVE snow!!! It's supposed to rain and snow here tonight, snow and rain?????
So I didn't even tell my kids, they get their hearts broken enough around here with the crazy weather!!
That's fabulous, Dana! I'm so excited for you guys. I lived in western TN for seven years where 1/4 inch was HUGE deal...I can't imagine not seeing any snow at all for 22 years.
We finally live in a place where we get quite a few good snows every winter, and I love it!
One of my good friends live in Houston and she sent me pictures like this today! I live in Illinois so we see this stuff all winter long, I wish it were the other way around :)
Beautiful! I wonder if we'll get any up here in North Texas this year.
I do love a snow day.

enjoy the snow and happy weekend.
I KNOW! It SNOWED!
I realized at Thanksgiving that my three youngest children had no idea what snow was. We were putting up the tree and I have snowman ornaments and they just didn't get it.
A few days later - SNOW in Houston!
A precious gift for a homesick girl!
Even though I live in North Dakota and we always get snow, there is still something magical about the first snow of the season.
