Checking in.. Ike 9/12/08 9:28pm

We are safely tucked away in the Texas hill country.

The kids are thrilled because the see this as almost a vacation.
Tomorrow morning we are going to tube / drift down the Guadalupe River.
The boys have been fishing.
The Little Foreman in Pink has been catching lightening bugs.

All in all, the young folk are doing great!

Now The man-of-My-dreams and I are a little more of a mess.
All we can do is sit and watch the Weather Channel it looks worse and worse with each report for our little farm.

I know we did the right thing by leaving to insure our well being.
But my farm.
My dream.
My critters.
What about them??

Ok... snap out of it Dana.. panicking will get me nowhere.
Gonna switch from panicking to praying.. that's always better.

Your just going to have to trust the Lord on this one Sweetie. The important thing is you are all safe. Our prayers are going up for those in harms way, that includes your farm and critters.

Dana,

I will be praying for you and for all of your critters. Please know we are all thinking of you.

Robin

P.S.

I am glad the kids are having a good time.

Dana, if you had a mandatory evcuation, then your home owners insurance should cover any expenses while you are gone, atleast it did for us when we lived in FL. We had to leave because of wild fires, we got our hotel and food all reimbursed! You are paying for this insurance, you really should try and use it.

Hope you return to everything the way you left it!

Be glad you left Dana. It was scary. I even broke down crying in the middle of the night because I was so tired but wouldn't sleep(I didn't want to be caught off guard) and it went on for hours and hours. LOTS of tornadoes on this side. If it wouldn't have been for the tornadoes dropping all around my house it wouldn't have been so bad but I was a nervous wreck. It finally started letting up at daybreak and I let myself relax and close my eyes.

Check out the streaming video at KPLCTV.com to see Hackberry and Cameron. They are almost totally under water. You know the little marina next to the seafood place? They said the water is almost to the top of the thing they park the boats under. Most of the houses have water.

I'm just glad that your family is safe. You can replace things, and even critters. Your family is irreplaceable. So go give them all hugs and thank God that you are so blessed. :) We'll be thinking of you.

I'm glad you all were able to evacuate and that your family is safe. But I can also imagine the concern and worry you have for your home and your animals. Hopefully everything will be left untouched and in good condition!
