I really love to take pictures.
But...
I absolutely despise having MY picture taken!
I have tried and tried, but I have yet to find a picture of me that I really like.
That's why all my pictures of me that manage to squeak into my blog are goofy, those are ok, because they are supposed to look bad.
Today I found out that I need to submit a head shot for an ad campaign.
This fact alone was almost enough to make me back out of the whole deal...
but it's gonna be great fun! I couldn't let my hatred of all pictures of me stop me from getting this opportunity.
So, I sat down in front of my laptop and snapped several pictures.
It has become evident that I'm not the most objective person when it comes to self portraits, so I need your help!
Please help me choose the least horrifying Head Shot!

i guess it depends on what the ad campaign is about. i like 9 for a standard shot. however, 8 struck my fancy.
I think #5 is beautiful, you don't give yourself enough credit. However, I understand where your coming from. I must admit I was excited to see #1 pic, I thought I was the only one who could make my lips do that...hehe (my kids hate when I do that-makes me do it more)
I like #5 or #10 the best. :)

I'm thinking that the lighting on these is bad and you need more natural light as well as someone else to take the shot. Self portraits rarely come out decently; mine always make me look like I've just finished picking my nose.
I never used to allow photos to be taken at all but now I'm finding that in the right hands, the camera does well. Try letting one of your kids or a friend take shots until you find one you do like. One of my favorites was a casual that I didn't know had been taken of me digging around in the garden.
You are too hard on yourself. I think you are beautiful and #5 is absolutely the best.
