Sappy Love Stuff

Today is a big day for me.

Five years ago today The-Man-Of-My-Dreams, My three boys, and his son officially became one family.

I am a very lucky woman. I am married to The-Man-Of-My-Dreams, I have 5 wonderful kids, I am living my life-long dream on a farm.

I have gotten a few e-mails asking me how The Man Of My Dreams and I met. Here is the Cliff Notes version; I’ll get into the long version another day.

I was going through a divorce and basically disliking anything that resembled a full grown male. I was also very withdrawn and spent most of my time playing games online.

I loved to play backgammon. (See? I told you I was kind of a dork! ) I was a moderator for a backgammon site that held huge tournaments. Every tournament needed to have a moderator in the room to handle any problems the host of the game may have.

My Screen name was TxAngel33. The host in this new room was named Tx_2_Step. I messaged him… “Where in Texas?” and little did I know it at the time.. but The-Man-Of-My-Dreams replied “Dayton. U?”

He was only about 40 miles from Houston. Cool!

I liked meeting folks who were near me. (Online only, not in person). I became the moderator for most of his tournaments. We exchanged pleasantries for a few weeks , and then we played a few games and began to really chat. (I kicked his butt by the way.. Did I happen to mention that I am the Backgammon Queen?!?)

We talked about the fact we were both going through pretty rough divorces; we talked about our kids, and everything else possible. A month or so later we met for real. (THAT was scary & thrilling all rolled into one! another time I promise)

The rest is history. I was instantly in love. (I warned you bout the sappy love stuff)

We are now happily married and we have our little family farm. And of course we now have our little-foreman-in-pink.

It was really funny that neither of us wanted to meet another mate, neither of us were looking to date.. And yet we found our perfect match totally by accident.

We had quite the whirl-wind romance and before we knew it we went from two newly single parents with kids to one big blended family.

We are still happy. And we are still very much in love.

He is the love of my life.
He makes me feel cherished.
He makes me feel protected,
He makes me feel pretty.
He makes me feel like a woman.
Better yet, He makes me feel like a lady.

We helped heal each other’s heartaches.
We help each other grow.

For the first time in my life I can honestly say…. I see myself growing old with this man.

Ok.. I’ll end this before I break into song. (NOT something you wanna hear! I sound kinda like a mix between a moose-in-heat & a dying cow)

He is still working out of town, (pout stomping my feet missing him, pout) I have to get ready because I have a long drive to go have a romantic dinner with him. (I might even put on war paint & shave my legs! It's a big night ya know!)

I love you Baby….
I plan to make the next 50 years as wonderful as the first five.
