(this is not a picture of one I made... I am never neat enough or anywhere near Type A enough to line all the tater-tots up all pretty in rows... I just dump em on and let nature take it's course. It's pretty this way too... I guess. )
This recipe is very forgiving….
Use whatever cream soup you have on hand…
Whatever spices you like… cheese etc..
Doubles great! You can also throw it together then freeze it for later use!

Tater-Tot Casserole
½ C. chopped Onion
1/3 Celery (optional)
1 lb lean ground beef
Salt & pepper to taste (and any other spices you like)
1 can cream of celery, or cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
1 16oz. package frozen tater-tots
1 C. shredded Cheddar Cheese

Brown; Beef, onion & celery, drain
Stir in salt & pepper & soups
Spoon into 12 x 9 baking dish
Top w/ frozen tater-tots.

Bake 375-400 degrees approx 40min till bubbly…
Remove from oven, top w/ cheese return to oven to melt. (about 5 min)
Then Move out of the way...
