Yesterday I drove to Lake Charles for a much needed night off.
Man-Of-My-Dreams met me there and we stayed in a swanky hotel/casino for the night.
I got there first.
The grounds are beautiful!! Huge fountains outside, gorgeous landscaping. And the inside is decorated in what they call "Texas Hill Country Style" Huge fire places, old exposed wood beams, rod iron everything. It was just amazing.
I walked into the very expensive fru fru lobby carrying my big blue beach bag full of clothes and whatnots. Looking quite out of place, I'm sure (but I did have on my cowboy boots! That should fit in with the Texas Hill Country-Style!)
I don't have a clue how... But they said . Hello Mrs Clover. They knew my name and I didn't even tell them! freaky man! (I'm sure they just googled me or something, but it was still strange) They gave me my room key/card and then a bellman tried to carry my bag. Now keep in mind, this is one single tacky aqua-blue beach bag. Not a stack of luggage. It made me giggle, and he did not know what to say when I told him "I can handle it, Thanks anyway" He pointed me in the right direction and I was on my way.
The room was beautiful!!
(notice how well my purse goes with them? Made from an old pair of Levi's)
They even had those super-schmooshy robes and slippers!!!
You know, the ones that have a note on them saying.. feel free to wear me..
Any feel free to take me home for only $80 each! OUCH
I didn't even touch them!
I went to check out the bathroom, that's what we girls do ya know!
And would you believe it!? There was an old friend there!
They actually have Starbucks coffee in the Bathroom!!
WOW!
And a bunch of super-fancy bath stuff
(that is neatly in my blue bag now)

to check out the casino.
A casino is something new for me.
Oh My Goodness!
It was scary and exciting at the same time.
I had decided to allow myself $25 to "play" with.
I sat down at a quarter slot machine.
I kinda felt cheated!
Did you know that slot machines do NOT take coins!?!
It kinda made the fact that I collected all my coins useless!
They take paper money or casino vouchers.
I really felt guilty at first, I mean, I spend so much time trying to save money that I felt bad gambling with it.
But then the strangest thing happened! (between the phone calls from the boys telling me that the Boy Scout parade was that night and HOW were they gonna get there?!?!? Mom, where did you put the stapler? Mom!! Didn't you say it was Ben's turn to feed the cat? you know, the normal stuff *sigh*)
Lights went off...
Horns blew...
and before I knew it, the machine spit THIS out!
